Is Resveratrol Safe with Cyclophosphamide?
Free · No account · based on published sources including NIH ODS, FDA drug labels, and peer-reviewed literature
Avoid resveratrol supplementation during active cyclophosphamide chemotherapy cycles unless explicitly approved by your oncologist. Discuss any supplement use at each oncology appointment.
Why this interaction occurs
Resveratrol activates Nrf2 antioxidant pathways and upregulates cytoprotective genes. While this reduces normal cell toxicity, it may also protect cancer cells from cyclophosphamide-induced oxidative damage, potentially reducing chemotherapeutic efficacy. CYP2B6 modulation by resveratrol may also alter cyclophosphamide bioactivation to its active metabolite.

Evidence level: limited.
Reported safety data
The FDA’s adverse event reporting system (FAERS) has received 187,497 reports mentioning Cyclophosphamide. This reflects reported cases involving the medication in general — not confirmed causation, and not specific to the Cyclophosphamide + supplement combination on this page.
FAERS reports are voluntary and cannot prove that a drug caused an event. Do not use report counts to assess the safety of this specific drug-supplement pair.
