Why this interaction occurs
In vitro data showed lisinopril inhibited rhACE2 activity at much lower concentrations compared to enalapril and benazeprilat, making it particularly likely to blunt the effect of exogenous ACE2 supplementation. Membrane-bound ACE2 activity in exosomes was also inhibited 211% more by ACEI treatment compared to ARB treatment.
